I've seen a number of installation related problems with V5.3 on Windows.

Did the install itself actually work? Have a look at file amqmjpse.txt
which should be in the C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ directory
(or your choice of directory if you changed it).

If the install worked ok, check C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
MQ\errors\amqerr01.log.

Finally, how is the service actually set up? Mine states 'local system
account'
which will probably be as MUSR_MQADMIN.

Yes I did; no message has popped up.

I have not even created a qmgr.

Hi all,

I have installed WebSphere MQ Version 5.3 CSD1 on a Win2000 Server.


But the service "IBM MQSeries" (Description: Provides startup and
maintenance services for WebSphere MQ) hangs after starting.

The program behind that service: "Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
MQ\bin\amqsvc.exe" .

User-Account is both in mqm and admin group.

Windows is not my preferred platform, so I consulted the NT-admin of my
department (who hasn't MQ knowledge).

He stated, that he had to "kill" the process of the service.



One year ago I had installed an V5.2 QMGR on NT4.0 SP4 - without any
problems.


Who can help ?
