On AIX MQ does its data conversion by calling the iconv OS routine.... it doesn't have any codepage conversion capability of it's own (that I'm aware of).  So look at the docs for iconv rather than MQ.
 
On NT I don't know what MQ uses to get the job done.

The broker can be configured to convert messages to a specific code page and my guess would be that it would use base MQ functionality and therefore the same conversion tables.

The broker does everything in unicode.
