I had used the Handle utility found at the same site to find the problem
process, but could easily have used Process Explorer as well. Both are great
tools and Process Explorer has a gui interface.

I would highly recommend Process Explorer from
<http://www.sysinternals.com>

It lets your search for processes holding .ddls by name string. You can
then easily identify the culprit. The tool also lets you kill the problem
process, including many processes which the task manager will refuse to
kill.

Neil Casey.

I just installed CSD04 and had to stop a JavaRun process that was accessing
MQ java files.

I have done a few. I got quite a problem log going with all the below
solutions when it comes to installing CSDs on Windows.

Make sure you have no runmq* or amq* processes running in Task Manager.
Make sure there are no MQ monitoring tools still running, like Tivoli or
QPASA.
Make sure Norton Antivirus is off.
Make sure the MQServices Icon in the taskbar tray in the lower right hand
corner is no longer there. Sometimes you have to even roll your mouse over
it to make it disappear after you killed the service!
Give all this a couple of minutes to give Windows a chance to clean up
internally.

And make sure you don't do the following, which I wasted an hour on last
night when I did it!

Create a folder ../WebSphere MQ/CSD04
Put the CSD04 .exe file in this folder.
When it asks you where to extract the install files, you pick the same
folder.
When it asks you where to install CSD04, you pick the same folder.
If you do this, you will get the MQ in use error! Some sort of loop I
guess.
Download, extract and install into 3 different folders.

Hello,

Has anybody had any problems installing CSD04 on W2K? I have stopped
all processes and services. The update gets about done then I get an
error saying MQ is still running.

I have confirmed no managers are running with the following command:
dspmq
I have confrimed no listeners are running by the following command:
endmqlsr -m QMGR
I have confirmed in the task manager there are no processes running
I have disabled WebSphere MQ in the Services

Any ideas? Could there be some .dll files that are interfering and
need to be renamed or deleted?

Thanks in advance.

Jeff
