Rob,

We've been using 'dot-delimited' names for MQ queue names for years.....never had any problems.  That's included WAS Versions 3.x, 4.x & V5.

Sorry, I don't have any URL links at my fingertips.  WAS should be able to handle any valid MQ-accepted characters, though.

I think your developers are mistaken.

Cheers,

Subject:        Reality check - dots in names

Ok, I need to ask your help for a reality check here!  One of our project
managers says his developers claim they've had problems using dots in
Websphere queue names (inside of Websphere Application Server, that is) and
they insist that they need to use underscores instead.  Has anyone else
heard of this problem?  If so, can you provide any URL pointers?

Thanks -- T.Rob
