Hi Roger,

My understanding of the situation is that after installing the standard
MQ client, then ETC, you should then run setmqcap (this sequence is
described in the ETC documentation available at
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/library/manualsa/manuals/crosslatest.html).

However, there seems to have been an oversight in the integration of ETC and setmqcap, with a file being left with too restrictive visibility for the new usage. So, in the short term you should be able to get rid of these messages by allowing increased read access to the file

/var/mqm/qmgrs/@SYSTEM/amqcap.inf

e.g.
chmod 444 /var/mqm/qmgrs/@SYSTEM/amqcap.inf

This problem should be fixed in a future release.

Hope this helps,
James.

Oops, I mis-spoke.

After tracking down the guy who did the initial install of the WMQ client base,
I was told that yes, they did install ETC (news to me!!). He told me that they
purchased a site license for ETC (via IBM sales rep.).

So, if we are legal for ETC, how do I get rid of those error messages?

Hi,

No, we are not using nor have we installed ETC. On the clients boxes, we
only
installed the WMQ Client v5.3 SupportPac with SSL. Actually, we are only
using
the WMQ/Java jar files (and not the rest of the client base).

The WebLogic programs are written in Java and use JMS to interface with WMQ.
Some of the Java programs are transactional based by the XA component is
controlled by WebLogic.

So, I am at a loss as to why these messages are coming out.

Hi Roger,

That message should only appear if you are using the extended
transactional clients product (ETC). Is it your intention to be using
ETC with Weblogic? Such a configuration would require an ETC license for
each client/Weblogic box you wish to use it on. To the best of my
knowledge this isn't currently a supported environment for ETC, so that
may not be a very wise investment.

If you are not intending to use ETC then you should probably contact
support to investigate why the error message is being generated
inappropriately.

Regards,
James.

Hi,

At my client site, we have a bunch of Solaris boxes with WMQ v5.3 CSD03
installed on them. I have run the "setmqcap" program to set the CPU

capacity.

WMQ client v5.3 CSD03 is installed on several other Solaris boxes.

We have Welogic installed on the client boxes. Every time we start one

of

the

nodes in Weblogic we get the following

"MQJE082: File containing the license unit information could not be found

-

run

setmqcap"

I have run setmqcap on all WMQ server boxes and setmqccap on all client

boxes

but this stupid message keeps on coming out.

The Weblogic nodes appear to connect to the WMQ server without any

problem

but

I am getting static from the other group about "what is wrong with WMQ".

Anybody know how to fix this?
