First of my apologies to all for sending this to the wrong list - it shouldn't be here at all. Jim, I will reply offline to avoid bothering MQers with this subject.

It has been quite a while since I supported a TXSeries system (and that was on AIX), however, if I remember correctly, you could choose where you wanted SFS to run (i.e. - a different machine) as well as the underlying data store (Encina flat file system or DB2). I was always able to bring CICS up without the PPC Gateway but not without SFS. It sounds like the SFS piece is running somewhere else which would account for the rpc errors.

Hello.
I have CICS 5.0 CSD 3 installed on my laptop with Windows 2000 Professional (SP3 applied).
It works fine as long as the computer is connected to a network. If I try to start SFS or the CICS region disconnected from the network I get the following error messages:
1 03628 03/09/27-10:31:18.624368 28106c36 F Encina Internal Error -- Call yo ur Support Representative: rpc_server_inq_bindings failed: 0xfffffffb 1 03628 03/09/27-10:31:18.654411 00000006 F T:/tr/encina/5.0/source/win32_x8 6/src/client/trpc/trpc_tran.c 2745 abnormal program termination SYMPTOMS = PIDS/5724NT620 LVLS/500 PTFS/@(#)supos, 18:48:59, Jun 30 2003 RIDS/Su pOS_SignalHandler LINE/109 MS/058916 MSN/1 SRC/11 PRCS/0 AB/ PID/3628 TID/0 TIME /030927103118 E. Can someone:
1 - Explain why this happens. 2 - Provide a solution to allow me to use CICS in 'standalone' mode?
Thank you in advance for any help.
