Title: MQ clustering / queue sharing on z/OS

Hi,

I have two MQ queue managers running on two seperate z/OS LPAR's, not in a sysplex.

I would like to share queues between the two queue managers.

Sysplex queue sharing is my preferred option but not a possibility probably until early next year.

In the interim I could resolve my problem via putting the two queue managers in a cluster.

My question is do I set myself a difficult task to move these two queue managers to a sysplex queue sharing group in a years time if I put them in a cluster now ?

Its my belief that you can only make one queue manager from a cluster a member of a queue sharing group is that correct ?

Any views or experience here much appreciated. I don't have experience of clustering or shared queues on z/OS so I'm just making sure I understand the implications of clustering now on future syspelx plans.

Many thanks,
Pete
