Thanks for the information Glen.  What Linux distribution (Redhat, Suse, etc) are you using?

Re: VMWare

Tony,

we use a VMWare Node for our development config manager server.  First we
do not try to keep the channels open to the broker qmgrs, we use a channel
disconnect interval of 6000,  and have not had any problems with the
channels.  We also use AdoptNewMCA on all our queue managers.

Yes.  All that has been applied.  I can not replicate this behavior on
non-VMWare installs with same config.

Are you successfully running WMQ under VMWare in your shop?

Tony,

There are always issues with keeping channels consistently up, on any
platform.  What's your configuration?  Have you applied all the standard
tuning (AdoptNewMCA, keepalive, etc.) yet?

Subject: VMWare

Is anyone have any experience with WMQ v5.3 (CSD 5) running under VMWare
(Linux Suse)?  If so, what are any gotchas?  We are looking at this option
and our initial (very preliminary) tests seem to indicate that there _MAY_
be some issues with keeping sender / receiver channels consistently up.
