You know, that got me thinking. Setting up a Gmail account (1 GIG free email
storage) would be worth it just so you could keep all your listserve
messages basically forever and have an awesome search tool be able to
quickly search all of them.

Peter,

I have two subscriptions going. One (on yahoo) receives the daily digests,
so I can refer back to them for a few days, and of course the storage is now
virtually unlimited; I leave this always receiving. The other account is my
daily "Here I am" account, which receives the server mailing realtime. When
I plan to be away for more than 2 days, I change a filter to discard all
incoming email from the listserver, so I don't clog up my Inbox on Exchange.

I hope this helps.

Dave A.

So, has the problem been permanently solved with the o-u-t o-f o-f-f-i-c-e
m-e-s-s-a-g-e-s? I added the dashes in case the list serve has some filter
pulling messages with those words. Whenever I set my email to say I was
away, I would always suspend my subscription while I was gone to not annoy
every one else. But then I would miss a weeks worth of messages.

Is it safe to leave the subscription to the listserve on even if you are on
vacation from an email perspective?
