After a lot of going in circles and finding new twists on the problem that generated some *interesting* results, we finally managed to find an answer. The solution was simply to re-link all of the MQ modules with the correct LE level.

Just a WAG. I have heard from one of our MVS folks that there is a new "feature" in the enhanced console routines in z/OS 1.5 that will "eat" messages to the console if there is no "ending line" to the message. Anyone heard anything more about this potential problem? George J Shedlock <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent by: MQSeries List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 10/12/2004 03:45 PM Please respond to MQSeries List <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To [EMAIL PROTECTED] cc Subject Messages not appearing on SYSLOG Fellow Listers, We are in the process of upgrading from z/OS 1.4 to 1.5 and from Websphere MQ from 5.3.0 to 5.3.1. Periodically we correctly receive messages CSQX544E and CSQX548E indicating that messages have been placed in the dead letter queue. With the z/OS 1.5 and MQ 5.3.1 combination, these messages are not displayed in the SYSLOG even though the MQ messages have indeed been placed in the dead letter queue. With all other software combinations, the messages are displayed on SYSLOG as expected. Any ideas?
