Title: RE: using the PORT= parameter in the qm.ini file.

Phillip,

I'm pretty sure the port setting in the qm.ini file is just the default port for MQ and not the listener port.  For example, if you specify an IP on a sender channel and leave don't specify a port in parentheses, then this is the port that will be used.  It's normally 1414; you could change it,but I don't see why you would want to do that.  Like I say it has nothing to do with the port number on which the qmgr is listening.

Subject: using the PORT= parameter in the qm.ini file.

Does anyone have experience in using the "PORT=" parameter in the TCP
stanza of the qm.ini file ?

I've not gotten it to work, even after changing the /etc/services and
/etc/inetd.conf

Is it necessary to still have the inetd.conf entry ?

Can we also have a different port defined for use in the services file ?
