I'm pretty sure the port setting in the qm.ini file is just the default port for MQ and not the listener port. For example, if you specify an IP on a sender channel and leave don't specify a port in parentheses, then this is the port that will be used. It's normally 1414; you could change it,but I don't see why you would want to do that. Like I say it has nothing to do with the port number on which the qmgr is listening.

Does anyone have experience in using the "PORT=" parameter in the TCP
stanza of the qm.ini file ?
I've not gotten it to work, even after changing the /etc/services and
/etc/inetd.conf
Is it necessary to still have the inetd.conf entry ?
Can we also have a different port defined for use in the services file ?
