Are the messages persistent? Are your active logs rolling too frequently
and do the archive logs get processed on time? How often does the queue
manager check point (may lead to momentary pauses)? Do your buffers seem
adequate?

Let us know how this turns out.
Good luck
    Frank

Subject: Performance problem with MQPUT1

Hello

We are running MQseries V5.3.1 on z/OS 1.4 and IMS 7.1. We have started to
experience performence problems from our IMS transactions that access MQ
queues. If we trace the application in our IMS monitor we can se that MQPUT1
calls take 7 -10 seconds sometimes. We have tried to look in RMF to find the
reason for the problem, we also have investigated batch jobs that work's
against MQ at the time's when we have problems. But we haven't been able to
find the source that causes the problem, any tips what could bee the cause?

Regards
Andreas Eklund
