Off the top of my head, how about "dis chs(chlname) saved". I believe that
will give you the info.
Cheers,

Channel status question

Is there a way to determine the current sequence number for a channel that
is stopped or inactive. If I issue dis chs(Channel-Name) curseqno when the
channel is active it works fine. But we have our channels disconnect
interval set at 1200 and if there are no messages folowing, I have to start
the channel manually first before I get a valid response from the chs
request to find out the sequence number.
What happened was our channel sequence numbers got way out of sync (sending
1240 when the receiver was expecting 9546) and the application shut down
because no messages were getting through. So I put together a little
script
that runs every 15 minutes that starts the channel and then display the
curseqno on both sender channel and receiver channel. Unfortunately, I
don't know if I need to start the channel or not and an exception is logged
when I try to start an already "started" channel.
As I have been monitoring this problem, I have seen the curseqno count
increase over time from 28 to 59 to 128 on up with the sender and receiver
channels in sync. Then I see the sequence number drop from 1600 to 1280
(still in sync) with no exceptions being logged anywhere. The application
does not car and MQ doesn't seem to car. MQ just keeps on working. Until
some point when the sequence numbers get out of sync and then the channel
shuts down -- which I am sure most of us have experienced. This problem
is
unique to this machine which is identical to 3 other servers running at the
remote site and 5 other systems running where I am located. Does anyone
have a suggestion?
Doug
