mhhh sorry.
some things to check
1. make sure you specified the cluster name in the clussdr and clusrcvr channel on wc1
2. check the channel status for the clussder (must be to ws1 or ws2) on wc1. from your previous displays, port
1414 should be okay. because both ws1 and ws2 listen to port 1414. if the channel is inactive try to start it.
3. if the channel will not start (e.g. retry, binding, ...) check the amq* logs. of course this could be a firewall issue.
try to telnet to the specified machine / port to make sure your firewall settings are fine. remember, there is
also the way back through the firewall that has to be opened too.
4. once you got the clussdr working, the clusrcv should be distributed to the repository and should also
show up as running. after that, wc1 should show up in the "dis clusqmgr(*)" display
its almost all a matter of the channels, if you get them working, the cluster should work too.
if all that fails maybe some displays from wc1 could help
display channel(*) all
display chstatus(*) all
display clusqmgr(*) all

I have done both of those things! That is why I put into my question the fact that I am behind a firewall that is opened for port 1414 and I asked if anyone knew if I needed to open any other ports.

to make WC1 member of you cluster, you need to perform 2 steps:
1. read the "queue manager clusters" manual
2. go to wc1 queuemanager and define a cluster receiver channel and a cluster sender channel on to one of the WS* repositories

So what do I do to get WC1 to join the cluster?

mhhhh... WS1 and WS2 are in the cluster, but i do not see WC1. It should show up in the "dis clusqmgr(*)" command,
from my point of view, WC1 has not joined the cluster yet.
anyway, if you put to a clusterqueue (from one of the WS* Queuemanagers) that is hosted on one of the WS* Queuemanagers
it should work.
what error do you get on the put?
could you include a "display qcluster(*)" from the queuemanager you are trying to make the put ? and - if the queue is on the
other queuemanager - the same for this queuemanager?

I have two servers WS1 and WS2 on one side of a firewall and contain full repositories. I have another server WC1 on the other side of the firewall setup to participate in the cluster. When I enter the "dis clusqmgr(*)" command I receive the following information.
dis clusqmgr(*)
1 : dis clusqmgr(*)
AMQ8441: Display Cluster Queue Manager details.
CLUSQMGR(RSPBCS1) CLUSTER(CL.RSDB.P)
CHANNEL(TO.RSPBCS1.CL.RSDB.P)
AMQ8441: Display Cluster Queue Manager details.
CLUSQMGR(RSPBCS2) CLUSTER(CL.RSDB.P)
CHANNEL(TO.RSPBCS2.CL.RSDB.P)
So I think that WC1 is known to the cluster. I issue a "dis chstatus(*)" command to confirm and I received the following.
dis chstatus(*)
2 : dis chstatus(*)
AMQ8417: Display Channel Status details.
CHANNEL(TO.RSPBCS1.CL.RSDB.P) XMITQ(SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE)
CONNAME(MPECMWS1.bcohome.bco.com(1414))
CURRENT CHLTYPE(CLUSSDR)
STATUS(RUNNING) RQMNAME(RSPBCS1)
AMQ8417: Display Channel Status details.
CHANNEL(TO.RSPBCC1.CL.RSDB.P) XMITQ( )
CONNAME(10.128.26.108) CURRENT
CHLTYPE(CLUSRCVR) STATUS(RUNNING)
RQMNAME(RSPBCS1)
AMQ8417: Display Channel Status details.
CHANNEL(TO.RSPBCC1.CL.RSDB.P) XMITQ( )
CONNAME(10.128.26.109) CURRENT
CHLTYPE(CLUSRCVR) STATUS(RUNNING)
RQMNAME(RSPBCS2)
AMQ8417: Display Channel Status details.
CHANNEL(TO.RSPBCS2.CL.RSDB.P) XMITQ(SYSTEM.CLUSTER.TRANSMIT.QUEUE)
CONNAME(MPECMWS2.bcohome.bco.com(1414))
CURRENT CHLTYPE(CLUSSDR)
STATUS(RUNNING) RQMNAME(RSPBCS2)
But when I try and put to a queue defined with cluster attribute on each of the WS1 servers the request fails. I was under the impression that clustering would allow me to view the local queues defined with cluster on this remote system. I can "mqping" through port 1414 to two other non-clustered machines without being stopped by the firewall. Do I need to make other firewall changes to accommodate clustering?
TIA.
Doug
