Both are good answers but I think once you have your proposed submission solution you need to dance your butt over to operations and talk with someone there to see if it is acceptable.

There usually is this group called SCHEDULING and another called SECURITY and another one called AUDITING. Someone from those groups will / might / may have a BIG say it what you can and cannot do once you are in production.

Given the MF everybody will want to have some sort of control over how you submit jobs into the system.

We took the Trigger Monitor Support Pack in one client and created an interface to AFOper that was used to submit jobs. Another way is to interface to CA7 or whatever scheduler you have there.

Another option is to use a CICS transactions to submit batch work through an
internal reader (see past discussion attached).
