Hi Balaji,

I dont think the queue parameters will play a role here. I think someother application on the mainframe has the exclusive open on the queue, else you dont get this error. Also, there is one more very rare case where this might happen is when the object being opened is in the process of being deleted.

Subject: MQ 2042 on a Mainframe Cobol application

Hello,

We have a mainframe queue (whose definitions I am unable to see) that does not allow more than one application to open it concurrently. The error is AMQ2042 (MQ Object in use). My mainframe application that reads from this queue uses the open options as “MQOO-INPUT-SHARED” and I’m not sure if this overrides the default queue definition (if defined as exclusive).

I know this answer will be easily obtained if I could look into the Queue properties, but I don’t have visibility to it.

Thanks,

Balaji.
