Shmuel

since several years I work with the SupportPac MO71 (MQMON). This works with z/OS QMgrs in version 5 too (which the Eclipse tool does not). I just installed an actual MQ-Client and the actual MO71 and it works fine.

Over last month I experienced Eclipse based MQ explorer - managing z/OS MQ V6.
That - using a full MQ Server installation on Windows, which is not practical for every station we need.
Now I raise again a problem not fully ! pursued back in January in this list.

I am looking for a sequence of steps to operate Eclipse based Explorer based on
free-of-license MQ Client for Windows.

Here is the sequence of steps -
and the problem I do not have with full Server install,
yet I do have with MQ Client and t hese steps.

1) Install MQ Client for Windows.
2) Install Refresh Pack 6.0.1.0
3) Install Eclipse (unzip) from Eclipse download site.
4) Install IBM SDK for Java 1.4.2 coming with Refresh Pack, and stick its .bin  in Windows Path.
5) Copy MQ Explorer plugin to Eclipse Plugin Library.
6) Open Eclipse, Open MQ Explorer Perspect! ive
7) Define and connect to remote QMGRs on z/OS - so far so good.

It works partially. When I right click on a z/OS QUEUE - I click the Properties, and get nothing.
Other operations on the queue work just fine: status, delete, clear, put testmsg, browse.

In short- with this sequence of steps using MQ Client, I cannot display Queue Properties.
Nor I can display Properties of any object.

Admitedly - I am not sure IBM supports such setup,
but I think its a required one -  to "spread" the Eclipse based MQ  Explorer
