Hello listers,
I am beginning the process of upgrading our Windows servers to
6.0.2.1. I have many remote servers to load and I would like to reduce
the size of the install package that needs to be loaded onto each of the
servers from the 605M package that is on the Install CDROM. Obviously I
can get rid of the language specific folders that I will not need but
that only reduces the overall size marginally. We do not have any
applications that are JAVA based and we do not require SSL. Does anyone
have a list of what can be safely removed from my install package? One
thing that I'm looking to remove is the QuickTour application as I don't
see the need for this to be distributed and it's 70M. Can I safely cut
out the gskit folder in the MSI directory if I'm not using SSL? And how
about the JDK folder in the Prereqs directory if I'm not using JAVA. I
am mindful of the fact that if the requirements change for the installs
I may end up having to push most of this eventually.
Any suggestions to reduce the size of the package that I'll need to send
across the wire would be greatly appreciated. TIA
Don Thomas
