Hi David,

I'm using Sun Studio 11 on Solaris 9 SPARC and Solaris 10 x86_64 with WMQ v6 on
both servers. It is working just fine. Last fall, H R Sridhar of IBM posted
(to a T.Rob question) that IBM would be shortly supporting Sun Studio 11.

I haven't had any issues and I have built both regular MQ applications and
exits.

Now to installing Solaris 10 on x86_64. Basically, Sun assumes that an
experienced Solaris SysAdmin will be doing the install.

1) Before you begin, make sure your hardware is supported (check Sun's HCL
list). i.e. video card, network card, motherboard, etc.. otherwise, you will
be wasting your time. Solaris is not like Linux, it is still only supported on
a limited hardware set.
Here are the hardware details of my server:

2) Sun makes ridiculous small mount points for '/', '/var', '/opt', etc... Do
NOT take the defaults. Make them much, much bigger.

3) Turn off any hardware hibernation settings, as Solaris does seem to
recognize when the hardware is switching off.
