I use a product from Itwatchdogs called the Weatherduck ($179.US)which is a serial port device and runs on NT, W2K and LINUX. http:\\www.itwatchdogs.com.
The device has internal sensors for temperature, humidity, airflow and light. There is also an RJ-11 port for connecting 1-WIRE sensors, which allow you to extend the reach to other cabinets or closets. The device software installs a MIB extension for the four internal sensors on the system which it is attached to, which makes it easy to use with MRTG. The software has a Web Interface with remotely accessible graphs, Web Cam Viewer and an Alarm page which can send E-mail notifications based on thresholds which you set. Hope this helps, Kevin -----Original Message----- From: Alan Rader [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, August 11, 2003 11:55 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [mrtg] OT: Data Center Environment Monitoring Just wondering what some of you out there might be using to monitor temp, humidity etc in your Data Centers? We got the Netbotz 310 and the camera part of it basically just sucks. If you are not within 5' of it, it is very difficult if not impossible to make out who might be in our Data Center. I can get better images and coverage from a cheap little web cam. With that, I am looking for a device that would be cheaper than the netbotz and provide me with temp and humidity. I did not see a product from them that only did this.
