Hello, I am relatively new to MRTG and RDDtool etc. I have it up and running on a few devices and have figured out how to do quite a bit with MRTG. I wanted to be able to track ping times with the PingProbe module. I installed that and it is working and I am getting graphs, however, in the ping time graphs the data appears to be wrong. Just trying to plot min, max ping times. I am running this on a win2k box. I am pinging a router on the same network. I have reviewed the mrtg-ping-probe script to see what it does. From what I gather it issues 10 pings to the host then grabs the average min and max return times. It then returns these numbers back to the target statement in the MRTG cfg file for the router. What is showing on the graphs are ping times that are up around 80ms consistently with drops down to around 40ms as the max ping time. The problem is that the ping times are actually averaging 1 or 2ms with a max of 10ms. I am not sure why these numbers are so far off and I can't figure it out. The win2k server is on the same test LAN as the router I am pinging. I even went through the mrtg-ping-probe and edited the script to display the values to me etc.. as the program is running. It appears to be returning the proper values consistently. Does anyone have any ideas on this. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, [EMAIL PROTECTED]
