Alec, I realize my answer was not the answer to your question, and it wasn't complete either. I meant to say: MRTG uses only whole numbers in the graph. Your logfile contains whole numbers so the graph _should_ be OK. I do not know why the are not always displayed in your graph. I'm curious to know what the first lines of the logfile look at the moment the graph is wrong.
