Have you compiled squid to support snmp?

For example you need to do : ./configure --enable-snmp [ ... other
configure options ])

Also, check out the following url for more info on mrtg squid support :
        http://www.serassio.it/SquidNT/mrtg.htm . I found this webpage quite
helpful.

(also you could look at

ab.htm )

 Hi All,

I have recently installed Red Hat Linux 8 which is being used as a Squid
Proxy Server and is workin fine

I wanna monitor it using MRTG (the network interfaces and the cpu load )

Now when I run cfgmaker it gives me the following error

 SNMP Error:
 receiving response PDU: Unknown error

and no cfg file is generated

i know this is an SNMP error and I have snmpd deamon running and also i
 have set

 rocommunity public

Is there any other file i have to modify .

Appreciate if someone can help me

 Regards

 Simon
