I erased everything in the WWW dir and went back to the basics. query a
single router basic mrtg default setup and now I get the log file BUT it
does not update, there is a single entry in the file the first line and I
have mrtg going to standard out so I see the screen when its updating the
file. After I see this I check the file and it has overwritten and the first
line has changed but its suppose to append to keep historical data.

I have tried the --logging option with no luck, nothing bad showing in the
logs...

When you launch MRTG, add -logging=/path/to/log to your command. This will
let you see if there are any issues creating the logs, or if there is truly
a bug keeping them from being generated.

Subject: [mrtg] NO log file generation

I just submitted an email to the list about the log files not updating and
now MRTG isn't even generating the .log files. I start with:

env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/routers/routers.cfg &

and it shows the PID number and Daemonizing MRTG... but that is it no error
messages about it can't or anything. I do a ps to verify that it is running
and its there. but when I go to the /var/www/mrtg/routers page nothing ls -l
*.log returns nothing....

I am dumbfounded can anyone help???
