Hi Eric,

This is a great thread to start up.

Couple ideas for growing community:

1. getting users of the system on the mailing list. Do you guys have any users
there at Cloudera
that say aren't on the mailing list for MRUnit, that could join? That could
help generate interest.

2. sending an email to general@incubator, or general@hadoop asking for folks
interested in the
project to come and join up.

3. getting a release together and pushing it out, generating some interest.

I'd say it's something we should start to report in our MRUnit status reports
(something to watch), but
we're not sunk yet. We just need to get a bit more vigilant about the community
and the project. My
contributions unfortunately at this point are guidance, VOTE'ing, and helping
with the ASF policies
and procedures, and less code oriented at this time. But I'll try and step up
my involvement.

Cheers,
Chris
