John,
Here's the SQL for the query whereby when I change the field "NewNISD", I
want the "FlashDate" field and the "Flashed" field to update in the DataEntry
table.
SELECT DataEntry.LoginID, DataEntry.Member, DataEntry.POC,
DataEntry.AccountName, DataEntry.HBD, DataEntry.Product, DataEntry.NISD,
DataEntry.NewNISD, IIf(IsNull([NewNISD]),"",Now()) AS FlashDate,
IIf(IsNull([NewNISD]),"","Flashed") AS Flashed, DataEntry.RepID,
DataEntry.RepName, DataEntry.Rep2ID, DataEntry.Rep2Name
FROM DataEntry;
Thanks for your help...

Exactly. You cannot change any field in a query that's based on an
expression. What is the SQL of the query, and what are you trying to
update? Note that if you include the fields used in the expression, you can
update the fields, and the query will re-evaluate the expression to display
the new calculated value.

Subject: [ms_access] subform fields to data entry
I have a form with two subforms. The first subform is informational
data only. The second subform is directly linked to a table for data
entry. I'm having trouble with the data entry subform writing to the
appropriate fields in the table. Some of the fields update and some do
not. The ones that don't have a calculated field using an IIf
statement and I'm wondering if this could be the problem?
