Ma question (above) was unfounded, exportation works OK (except toward Excel
where the problem remains)

Objet : [ms_access] Exporting a table including a numeric foreign key

I have a table Nr 1 (CITIES), one of its fields (State Id) is a foreign key
(numeric fields corresponding to the primary key autonumeric field of table
Nr 2 (STATES).
+ referential integrity and combo boxes hiding primary keys thanks to the
wizzard, helping to choose data among correct values.

I have to export regularly the CITIES table to a txt or Excel file for
another non access application.

Why does access (2003) export not the numeric value of the State Id, but the
text value of field nr 2 of table 2 (State Name) ? It seems to work as if i
exported a query based on the two tables...access does a work i am not
asking for...

Is there a way to have the pure numeric value exported ?
Is it because of referential integrity ? of the combo box ? (i would like to
keep both of them in the access application)

Thank you

Gilbert Clauss
