I actually found a way to work this out by restricting my queries to what was
being entered on the open form (data entry) per each individual LoginID from
the Main Menu (sort of a switchboard). So far so good.
Thanks for your help!

autonumber will give everyone a unique ID. As long as they don't care about
the number being sequential, then it's a good idea. If they do care about it
being sequential, then you need to create a separate key field for them to have
their number in that is not an autonumber (but you should still use an
autonumber as the primary key for the table.)

Subject: [ms_access] Multiuser subform and autonumbering

Maybe someone can tell me what to do as I'm getting nowhere lately...
I have a New Customer entry form with a Data Entry subform that writes
certain fields to a table. The New Customer gets issued an "Account
Number" which is an autonumber field from another table. Each new
customer may have several products assigned to them. Everything seemed
to be working just fine until I found out that TEN people will be
using the form at the same time trying to enter new customers and get
new account numbers (autonumber)! Although this is not really an
option at the moment, I thought of locking the form so only one person
at a time can use it.(?)
Any suggestions? Let me know if you need more information.
 Thanks,
 Doreen
