If you need to have sequential numbers, you could write a routine to retrieve
the next available number. The trick is you need to keep track of the numbers
you've given out. You may want to store the new numbers in a temp table and
when a new number is requested, check the sequential numbers as well as the
temp ones to make sure that a new number is given out each time.

Subject: [ms_access] Restrict one copy of mdb

Hi,

I'm having a big problem with my POS(point of sale) program, the
problem is if you open more than one program the invoice no's gets
spoiled. Is there any way to restrict mdb to open only one copy and if
the user clicked again the second copy checks if there Is already
another copy running and shut down by itself?
