It appears the OldValue method works only with a control which is bound to a
field in the underlying record source. Here it works very well. If someone
out there doesn't come up with a better solution I'd go for storing the
value in a Static variable before the field is updated and compare it with
the value after updating the field though it might sound a bit hectic.

Good luck

Subject: [ms_access] Re: Comparing Combo Box before & after change

I have moved on, but have another problem:

The combo box on the form has three values. When a user changes the box
they are prompted with a message that tells them what actions will be
taken based on the value they are changing from (Me!Status.OldValue)
and the one they are changing to (Me!Status.Value) ... [thankyou
ltumbulu]. They are prompted to proceed with or reject the change.

If they reject then the code undoes the change (Me!Status.Undo), but
the form still shows the value they changed to in the box - how do I
get it to change back to the oldvalue? (I have tried Me.Repaint), but
that doesn't seem to work.
