me sorry for confusion on you with my question.
Let me refresh my question once more, actually I want to add the field
in the same name in that column only. As per your suggestion it adds all
the fields in that column.

In the design view of the query put the bring the two fields down to the
grid.
On the tool bar at the top there is a Totals button that looks like a
greek "E".
Click that.
Both fields will have a new line under them that says "Group By".
Go to this line and select Sum instead of Group By for the qty field.
Then run the query.

xyz 40
Now I want to make a query that show me total sum of prdn name with
prodn qty
Here the sample result as per my expectation
Production name Prodn qty
Abc 80
xyz 40
Hope any body can help me with this matter
