[ms_access] Update query and editing cell contents

Hello Access Gurus

I'm working with an inventory database and have a list of serial 
numbers. I need to remove the first character from the serial numbers 
for specific models.  I can sort the models out, but I can't seem to 
phrase the "Update To:" command to shave the first character from the 
SN.  The existing SN is 8 characters long.  I need to remove the first 
character (an "S") to make the SN 7 characters long.
How can I do this?
