I do not know the history of where the "Me." came from, but if you are
working within an open form or report module, you can make the
reference to the collection of fomrs or reports with "Me." rather
than having to type out the reference to the form.
Thus, instead of having to reference the whole collection, i.e.
Forms![frmSales]![FieldName], you can simply type Me.FieldName
