Hello,

Recently I was searching the net for UTAU and found this page [1].
I'm currently working on a new backend for the eSpeak synthesizer that
produces more natural sound. It is based on the WORLD speech tookit[1]
which is free software under the BSD license. I also found an
interesting paper about UTAU and WORLD at [3]. I think any free software
singing synthesizer that is better than eCantorix[4] should be
implemented on top of WORLD (and maybe eSpeak for phonetic
transscription). vConnect-STAND[5] (released under the GPL) also
produces quite natural sound while eCantorix sounds more like a robot[6].
