Hey Sacgarden,

I second what David says. Feel free to share your expertise and which
specific parts in MuseScore you like to improve. The best place to
communicate might be the Technology Preview forum at
http://musescore.org/en/forum/687 or our IRC channel #musescore on
freenode.net.

There has been indeed efforts to redesign MuseScore 2.0 which were lead by
tinman: http://musescore.org/en/user/38174
He started writing out design guidelines for MuseScore which you can find as
a chapter in the developer handbook at
http://musescore.org/en/developers-handbook#References

Where I personally seek help for is artwork design for things like the
MuseScore 2.0 splashscreen, as well as artwork for the musescore.org to make
MuseScore 2.0 shine. I'm looking forward to talk more about this with you on
IRC. My nickname is thomasbonte.
