Hi MuseScore developers!

My name is Nafis Zaman. I'm an undergrad at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science. I'm interested in working on MuseScore as part of GSoC 2014. Specifically, I'm interested in making MuseScore more accessible for visually impaired musicians.

Hello! I'm happy to answer questions about this project and review proposals. I have questions for you, first, though. You say you've never used notation software before - that's fine, but of course you'll want to come up to speed on how MuseScore works for sighted people before you can get very far in working out how to make it more accessible. Do you have any experience with accessibility issues in software? Do you know any blind musicians (or have any leads on how you might meet some)?

I'm usually logged into IRC but am not always actually at my computer and often forget to mark myself "away". But IRC is usually a good medium for these kinds of discussions for me. Generally, as lasconic says, initial discussion would be best done publicly, but as we get into details of your specific proposal, I think doing that one-on-one (either via IRC or email) is good.
