1) Makefile is still overwritten by 'make' -- what's the rationale for
doing that ?

There is no rationale. It shouldn't do that. Your build is not configured
correctly. The build should happen in build.release or build.debug
depending on the target you choose. See for example https://github.com/mus
escore/MuseScore/blob/2.2/Makefile#L48

4) See 1), if precompiled headers work, it will be a lot faster.

5) This is a problem with Qt 5.7.  2.2 uses Qt 5.4 for the moment. I
thought we fixed it with https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/commit/
8974c1a223e5dc31390f1981c5dc530d349ffd14 though. Maybe we have one more
remaining.
