Hello sir
My name is Shaurya Gupta currently enrolled in B Tech program with my
specialisation in information technology and I am interested in Gsoc as I was
going through the organisations working on C++ .
I found out about MuseScore and installed the software on my computer and I
really liked the project ideas and would like to contribute towards them.
I also made a project which involved processing and converting the language of
a video from any language to any language and made that project using Python
and QT only. So I have worked on QT before as well. And there is something
about music which makes me do something for it. I have found some really good
ideas on the MuseScore idea list.
First the Idea of Braille export :
We can create a program like Lime program for making the music notation
entry(by visually impared people too) and then converting them into a braille
file and then that braille file can be used to create scores as well and that
braille file can also be read using a braille display.
Second the idea of Guitar griff
We can build the UI for this in such a way that the guitar frets are at the
above side and scores based on those frets are below and with slide bar so that
the user does not need to go all the way above to click for different options
as shown in the video in the provided abstract. And can also add the
functionality of appending lyrics and comments in a seperate section
corresponding to the music being played so that the user can write notes.
Third the idea of Lyrics editor:
Right now after the extraction of lyrics from the scores and editing the
changes are not being reflected back . What we can do is create a seperate file
with timestamps for each line and allow the user to update only the lyrics and
not the timestamps and also provide autocorrect options there so that spelling
are also checked. And then the new file will be used to create a final sheet.

Sir, I would like you to review my suggestions and if possible then suggest me
what contributions i would be able to make in that certain time period and
which project should be the best according to my suggestions and if possible
please provide suggestions and revert about things i should follow or do.Please
suggest any improvement as I would love to contribute even outside the scope of
Gsoc on these projects. Also provide me with few suggestion on how to draft my
proposal.

TL;DR

  1. My name is Shaurya Gupta, interested participant in MuseScore projects for
Gsoc 2019
  2. Interested to develop UI for guitar Griff in a new way .
  3. Fascinated by the Idea of adding Braille export and would love to
contribute.
  4. Lyrics editor can also be implemented using a different approach.
Thank you.
