I had a look. My mouse cursor theme is set to "None" in both Win2000 and Win7. The difference being that in Win2000 the I-Beam cursor is black with a white border. In Win7 it is only black. So that explains it. My work-around. I had to change the Win7 cursor theme to "Windows Black" which then looks the same as under Win2000. A black I-Beam with a white border. How strange - but that's Windows I guess. ;-) Thanks for the help.
