You cannot extend or add properties to the HSW class. It is a "special" class
and not hosted by the agent - it is hosted by the management server.

To accomplish what you desire, I'd recommend the following:

1. Create a group of Windows Computer objects based on a custom class
based on Windows Computer where you add a property (similar to my example for
reg keys) but use your reg key as the discovery source.

2. Use this example to create the group of ONLY HSW objects - based on
the previous group membership:

Hi,

The actual Health Service Watcher is inherited from System.Perspective - it
keeps an eye on the agent from the RMS perspective and, as I understand, there
is no actual instance on the agent. So if you create a discovery that targets
Health Service Watcher, you'll actually discovers the RMS x times the count of
Health Service Watchers.

So, I think you'll have to find another path. I can't direct you without
further thinking:)

Subject: [msmom] Dynamic Group Membership using Registry Keys

Hi All,

I was reading Kevin Holman's blog today 'Excellent Article'
http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2009/06/10/creating-custom-dynamic-computer-groups-based-on-registry-keys-on-agents.aspx
about creating groups based on registry keys.

I was wondering if it is possible to create the same kind of thing but for
Health Service Watcher (Agent).

Challenge. We use HSW as the basis for Availability reporting for this
customer. The customer has asked for an availability report for all servers
based in Active directory sites. However the create group wizard is not the man
for this job.

I have identified the Registry Key
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogin\Parameters\DynamicSiteName
which seems to fit the bill.
My struggle is using this to create a group of Health Service Watcher Agents
and not the windows Computer Object for the Availability report.

Any help appreciated.
