I'm sure there are actually some good reasons for this - I'm not sure many of them would be technical.

Why does Oracle see Solaris Zones as hard partitioning but AIX WPARs as soft partitioning for licensing purposes, if there both BSD Jail based. They both have the exact same resource controls as far as I can tell.

I think some very dodgy licensing practices are going on.
