Hi David, I have not tested it with 3.0.4, but you can try. Actually, you won't get any better run time performance with either 3.0.4 or 3.1.
Changing binutils is painfull, 2.12 has no any advantages and binutils does not make any code better. So, I will probably go to 2.12 in the future but not now.
