[Mspgcc-users] special function registers

hello,

i didn't quite understand the example given in the docs about using
special function registers.

*******************************************
To write to SFR, just issue a command like:
SFR = smts;

To read SFR, issue:
smts = SFR;
*********************************************

in this case, what is smts? just some arbitrary variable?

also,  how do we know the name of the SFR or do we define the name of the
SFR ourselves?
