After reading the original post I decided to try out GCC3.3 (with mspgcc
3.4) and my binary increased in size by almost 1k (928bytes) and I haven't
even recompiled my libs.  With a binary that's just over 32k a 1k bloat is
not good (esp when I'm trying to get it under 32k as it is with IAR).

Am I missing something to make 3.4 create smaller code?
