The switches I'm using for the compiler are:
-c -std=gnu99 -g -O2 -Wall -Wp,-w -Wno-return-type -Wstrict-prototypes
-mmcu=msp430x149 -v
For the linker just: -mmcu=msp430x149

Its weird because this code compiled perfectly on CrossWorks... same CPU.

looks like your using more ram than available. dont forget to use the 
-mcpu=xxx switch at compile _and_ link time.
