I used the installation program which I downloaded a few days after it was
placed on the web, i.e. about June 10th.

The cygwin version is installed in the path "c:\cygwin" and the original
cygwin-dll "cygwin1.dll" is in the path C:\cygwin\bin" and
in the mspgcc path "c:\mspgcc\bin", but they are identically.

If a add another function to that code which causes the error message it runs
fine.

Udo

hm, never had such problems on XP or 2k.
one cygwin version had problems with lockups, but the current verion
should be good.

some things to check:
  - which installer did you use? the one from this month?
  - do you have other cygwin1.dlls on the PATH? that usualy leads to
problems (sometimes with a warning message)
