[Mspgcc-users] gdbproxy suddenly recognizes chip as 148 [type 6) instead of 148 (type 7)

I've been developing on a board with a x149 chip, and suddenly
gdbproxy now recognizes the chip as x148 [type 6) instead of x148 (type 
), and it fails to load in the elf file with memory errors.
I connected another x149 to the FET and it came back correctly.
What could be happening?  I've never seen this before.
