Hi!

Those developing for MSP430 on Linux might be interested in the RPM packages I
created for all current SUSE distributions. They should also work with other
RPM based distributions if you select the packages for the SUSE version that
has matching Python release with your distribution, i.e. SUSE 9.2 for Python
2.3.x, SUSE 9.3 for Python 2.4.x, and openSUSE 10.2 for Python 2.5.x.

Comments are always welcome.

Things you don't need to report:

1. There is already cdk4msp. --- I know that but since the last update there
was in 2003 I did no longer consider this maintained.

2. The meta information talks about "atmel" processors at least in one place.
Obviously this is wrong and should read "msp430". This is just because I
copied the meta information from another package and forgot to change that
   text.

The packages are:

cross-msp430-binutils assembler, linker, and stuff like that

cross-msp430-gcc c compiler

cross-msp430-gdb debugger

cross-msp430-jtag tools and libraries that reside in jtag and python
                        directories in mspgcc cvs

msp430-libc c library

cross-msp430-gdbproxy gdbproxy (proprietary)

cross-msp430-libMSP430 libMSP430 (proprietary)

cross-msp430-jtag-32bit compatibility library needed to run the proprietary
                        extensions with a 64bit toolchain

For some packages there also exist corresponding *-debuginfo packages. You
only need them if you want to debug the toolchain itself.

You can find all that stuff at
