Hmm, it worked for me. I followed the steps exactly including the rather strange one that suggested an earlier GCC version for compiling GDB as I had the exact same problem in failing to compile GDB. Have no idea why it shouldn't for you, though. Did you fetch the MSPGCC sources from the CVS ? Which GDB version do you build: 6.0 or 6.6 (the most recent IIR) ? I opted for 6.0 to play it safe.
