Hi, Surprisingly, TI have released some source code for talking to the UIF [1]. It looks like it's under a BSD-type license. Presumably this means we can use this for reference purposes when implementing a compatible mspdebug backend.
Sadly the released code doesn't contain the source for the UIF's firmware itself, just a binary blob for that. What's unclear to me right now is the license that this binary blob is under. The header file that it's in has no license in a comment associated with it, whereas most/all(?) of the other source files do. Perhaps some interaction with TI will get them to clear this up so that mspdebug can include the required firmware. Their wiki page states that this release only supports a limited set of devices -- all in the CC430, MSP430F5xx and MSP430F6xx series. Most interestingly, the source appears to contain things relating to the more advanced debugging features of the MSPs -- like the EEM.
